There is a song called “ Praise Him in Advance”. Initially, when I first heard this song, I did not understand the lyrics.
Going Through a Storm
At the time, when the song came out, I was in the process of a divorce and I was angry. I recall thinking how can I praise him in advance when I don’t know how He’s going to work it out. I was perplexed about how I was going to sell my business, provide for my daughters, and create a future for myself. I was going through so many emotions at the time. I remember asking God “Why would you allow me to experience this?”.
I believe this is what most of us call going through a storm. In hindsight, I allowed my storm to overwhelm me. I was completely consumed with solving my problems. Why did I think I had to find an answer to every problem?
Because we are brainwashed by the world into believing that we must know everything at every moment. God does not operate that way. There are times when we won’t see our way and it seems impossible. But God majors in the impossible.
